Planned Parenthood’s 2024 Annual Report Shows the Depths of Its Depravity

ALL was the first to report that Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s 2023-2024 annual report, A Force for Hope, was released on Monday morning, following Mother’s Day weekend. While the irony of both the report title and the release date was not lost on us, Planned Parenthood’s current landscape shows that its abortion numbers are growing, largely “thanks” to our government’s continued support of Planned Parenthood and abortion with America’s tax dollars.

Some of the main highlights from this report include the following:

  • Reported abortion numbers increased from 392,715 to 402,230 (Planned Parenthood did not specify if this number includes abortion by pills, leading STOPP to believe that the number of abortions they committed is much higher).
  • Government grants (that’s from our tax dollars) increased from $699.3 million last year to $792.2 million this year; however, private contributions (private donations) decreased by 34.1%, from $997.5 million in 2022/2023 to $684.1 million in 2023/2024. The government officially gave more money to Planned Parenthood—a  “nonprofit”—than its own donors did in 2023/2024.
  • Telehealth services increased from 123,855 to 142,000.
  • Total contraception services decreased to 2,223,680, with increases in this category only in male sterilizations (up 32%) and emergency contraception kits (up 7.2%).
  • Clients increased 1.2% to 2,080,000 from the last report’s numbers.
  • Abortion referrals from Patient Navigators went from 33,000 to over 100,000 within the year.

This year’s report shows that fiscal year 2023-2024 was not a loss but a year of several increases for Planned Parenthood in many ways. Eleven of its 23 “services” saw decreases in numbers, while 12 saw significant increases. 

As the abortion organization continues to claim financial problems among its affiliates, resulting in continuous facility closures post-Dobbs, Planned Parenthood’s 2023-2024 annual report contradicts these claims while simultaneously confirming what STOPP has suspected for some time: “Telehealth” abortions, its new Virtual Health Centers, and abortion pill referrals online are exactly where and how Planned Parenthood is continuing to expand its deadly abortion business. 

STOPP continues to speculate whether these reported abortion numbers include pill abortions from its facilities and these virtual centers and why Planned Parenthood does not specify this key indicator in its numbers.

In American Life League’s 2024 abortion pill report, we reported that third-party vendors are selling and mailing non-FDA-approved abortion pills to anybody into the United States, no matter a state’s abortion law. Planned Parenthood is one of the organizations that refers people to third-party sites that provide these abortion pills. However, PP did not report how many referrals it made to places such as Abortionfinder.com and Plan C in this report, either. Instead, the report bragged about having 177 million visits to its website in general.

STOPP will never give up in the fight against Planned Parenthood. These numbers show us not only Planned Parenthood’s web of deceit and contradictions but that it is hungry to make money by killing preborn babies. Now more than ever, we must encourage the US government to DEFUND this heinous “nonprofit.”

New Bill Could Potentially Take Large Chunk of PP Funding, but It Has Flaws

A new bill just passed through Congress has the potential to take a large chunk of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding, but not all of it. 

Included in the current bill is language that would strip Medicare reimbursements to Planned Parenthood for mostabortions. The bill allows exceptions for rape, incest, and health of the mother. 

The problem with this exception clause is twofold.

One: Planned Parenthood receives $792,200,000 every year. Why are we letting them keep even a cent of that? It has been proven time and time again that this organization thrives on abortion and now thrives on giving sex-change hormones to children. They don’t deserve a single penny of our tax dollars.

Two: Give Planned Parenthood an inch, and they will take a mile. If the exceptions are the only way PP will get paid, you better believe every abortion will now become a life-or-death situation so that Planned Parenthood ensures it will get its money. 

This exception clause will still allow for the murder of millions, and with a save some not save all mentality we will never be able to advocate for the total protection of the preborn. If we can justify the murder of one, we can justify the murder of many. 

As Catholics, we know that abortion for any reason is murder, even in the tough cases like rape, incest, or health of the mother. The baby is still a human being who deserves to continue living.

A bill that only partly defunds evil does not go far enough. We encourage our lawmakers to defund PP entirely! Imagine if $792,200,000 was sent to encourage parenthood instead of to destroy it!

That would be a bill worth passing!
